Speakers Wanted

We especially encourage new members — and all members — to give a 10–15 minute talk on a topic of their choosing. We are also looking for members to present at our local talent night, where talks can be as short as 10 minutes or longer as desired. Please let any LIDS officer know of your interest to speak.

Recent Meeting Recap

Westbury Manor · March 10, 2026

President Dr. Suzanne Rozenberg called the meeting to order and welcomed members, prospective members, and residents from the SUNY Stony Brook, St. John's Episcopal Hospital, and Northwell Health programs. Three new members were voted in: Dr. Aakash Varma, Dr. Silvina Pugliese, and Dr. Kayla Graber. Welcome!

Presentations

• Dr. Alina Bridges discussed recent AAD resolutions, including PFAS ("forever chemicals") in creams, stipends for JAAD reviewers, reduced AAD fees for volunteers, and an amendment to create a new AAD Chair of the Board.
• Dr. Isabelle Kozik (SUNY Stony Brook) presented a well-discussed case report on Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris, covering the six types of PRP.
• Dr. Nika Franceschi, dermatologist from Zagreb and Vice-President of "Healthy Under the Sun" (Croatia), discussed the national skin-cancer screening program along the islands of the Dalmatian coast.
• Dr. Karan Lal, the featured speaker — a double board-certified pediatric and cosmetic dermatologist — presented on Social Media & Haircare, covering supplements, Rosemary Oil, LPP, LLLT, CCCA, and more.
